Gianni Gonzalez, CPC, CPMA, RHIT, Director, Compliance and Coding, has more than 20 years of experience in health information and reimbursement management in both hospitals and physician offices. She delivers up-to-date and compliant guidelines to practices by providing chart auditing services and on-site coding education programs to both physicians and staff.  Ms. Gonzalez was an Education Specialist for University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians. In this role, She served as a resource for implementing the 1995 and 1997 CMS Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines and Billing Compliance rules to its providers. She also conducts assessments to determine the compliance risk for physician practices by directing compliance audit programs, overseeing the monitoring and auditing activities for the professional fee and billing system, and administers, maintains, and sets charges to ensure timely, accurate claims processing and data collection. She specializes in revenue and denials management, including: physician coding, provider based implementation, fee schedule analysis, chart review, and coding / billing education.  For the past ten years, her consulting responsibilities have focused on physician evaluation and management chart review and surgical operative note review to ensure physicians are reporting services accurately and optimizing reimbursement.  She has spoken at numerous specialty society meetings presenting topics on coding, reimbursement and practice management
